Date Night

Paul and I both had early plans for Saturday. We asked my mom is she would watch the kids and offered to let us drop them off Friday night. Um, okay!

We decided that we wanted to go to Red Iguana in Salt Lake. We called and they still don't make reservations for only two people. The drive up to Salt Lake was long. We hat a lot of traffic that made it really hard to get through Utah County. I thought we would never get around the point of the mountain. We got there a little after 6:00, maybe closer to 6:30. Who knows. On the phone the girl told us we should only have a 20 minutes wait. When we got there we were told it would be an hour. Say what? It's not that good! What else could we do? By that time everything would be crowded so we stuck it out. Outside, in the chilly November air with no snacks. We were so freaking hungry. I was really close to hurting someone. The smug, homely, hostess girl was at the top of my list. We played on our phones to pass time. Finally we got called to be seated.

We got guacamole and I got a pina colada. I got the special, chicken chili verde, and Paul got tacos de carne asada. It was 8:30pm before we were done eating. We had planned to go to the Gateway but we had hardly anytime before they closed. All we could do was buy Emma and jacket at Old Navy (we got a screamin' deal. It was 50% off and then an additional 30% off!) and Andrew some snow boots and then the stores started closing.
We headed over to Leatherby's for some dessert. It was delicious as always but we couldn't even finish we were still so full from dinner. If we had had the time to shop in-between we could have eaten like hogs at both places. After ice cream we headed home and that was the end of date night.

That ice cream looks pretty heavenly! I love when you get the chance to do an unexpected date, evne if the traffic kind of made it hard. :)
