Holy Cannoli

The end of the school year is almost here. I feel like a snowball rolling down a hill. I just keep picking up speed. The days are coming faster and faster and each one holds more responsibilities than the last. I feel like I am losing control. Soon enough things will settle down. Today I had to keep telling myself, just one more week.

Today was a water activity day for the kids. We got them all set with two outfits, towels and sun block but forgot the extra undies. Oops. I went to work but left a little early so I could come home and grab my camera (That’s when I got the voicemail that dry underwear was needed.) then I ran to the school and to attend Emma’s class play.(Jack and the Beanstalk) After that I hurried home to clean a little before a person came to buy my hutch. (It’s gone and I am thrilled. I wish I had asked more for is since there were three other people who wanted it. Oh well.) After that I had to attach patches to Andrew’s cub scout uniform and go get my daughter out of the ghetto (That’s a whole other story but thanks Maggie for telling me that she was walking up Center St.) and now I am preparing mentally for our first pack meeting tonight.

All week I have been burning the candle at both ends. I took a personal day yesterday, thank goodness. At least now I have clean underwear and strawberry jam. I’m set right?

Tomorrow Emma has another water activity/field trip at a local park. I am supposed to work again. Ugg. I only have a few days of freedom left and I am going to be working. It sucks! I would much rather be having lunch with friends or doing something to celebrate my mom’s birthday. I guess it’s for the best because I still have a Relief Society lesson that I need to prepare. Hopefully there will be a window after work and before the kids get home where I can pull it all together. (I have started it, just so we’re clear.)

One more week, one more week. I am so thankful that we have Monday off! After the kids are out there won’t be anymore homework to fuss over, bedtime schedules to enforce or alarm clocks to deal with for months. I can work in my garden and play on the computer to my hearts content. I may even quilt again. We can have weenie roasts and s’mores in the canyon. We can look forward to our family vacation to Mt. Rushmore and our staycation in Provo. The kids can play in the sprinklers, on the trampoline and run around the neighborhood playing night games. I cannot wait for summer!

Here is Emma and Haylen as the Golden Harp. The play was so cute and she did a great job. I wish I had known it was going to be so good, (I didn't know hardly anything about it until very recently) I would have invited everyone. Paul is sad that he missed it. I am hoping that we can get a recording of it.

Here is the harp and the chicken who laid the golden egg. (AKA the boy Emma has a little crush on) The teacher put all the costumes together herself. I wish she would have asked for help. She did a ton of work!
Here they are in front of the beanstalk.
My little cub scout. He earned his bobcat tonight and a Leave No Trace Awareness award.
The wolves were in charge of the flag tonight.
He got to pin a pin on me.
It took him a while since he was trying to be cautious.
Still working on it....
They said to give mom a hug and I got put in a head lock!
