Sunday on Temple Square

I was very tempted on Friday to forego the birthday shopping and drag my mom around Thanksgiving Point for the Tulip Festival. My greed won out and we did not go. Saturday was the last official day and with Andrew’s baptism that was out too. I got it in my head that I needed to see tulips. I asked Paul if we could go as a family after sacrament meeting on Sunday. We drove up in the rain but as we got to Salt Lake the skies cleared. We all ate snacks the whole way in the car but apparently it wasn’t enough to fill up Andrew. He exhibits signs of hypoglycemia and when he isn’t properly nourished he is a grumpy beast. We got there and Emma was more than willing to pose for me but Andrew not so much. I don’t think we got one good picture of him all day long. I was hoping for a relaxing afternoon enjoying the beauties of the earth but instead I got a crying, whining little boy who made me grumpy.

It was so beautiful that I could have spent hours just wandering around but that wasn’t in the cards. Next year I think it will just be Emma and I. I know that Paul won’t mind staying home!

This should have been my first clue that they day wasn't going to go as planned. It was a little shiny (That is what they kids use to say when we would try and take their pictures on a sunny day.) Lovely face Andrew is making isn't it?
I love this one of Emma a lot.
This is our best shot of Andrew.
Thanks Paul for squinting.
One more attempt at a family shot.
I think he could have stayed here for hours.

Ready for the Emma show?

Here are a few more random shots.
